Hairy Vetch Villana

Autumn-sown variety that guarantees high production of highly proteinaceous forage. Compared to common vetch, Villana has high resistance to winter cold. It is a very rustic variety and adapts well even to tendentially acidic soils, unlike other legumes. Its resistance to intensive winter grazing in central-southern Italy is good.

Use: hay, undersowing or Cover Crop

Earliness: medium-late

Sowing rate: 60 – 70 kg/Ha

Sowing period: September-October

Cultural recommendations

Soil preparation: superficial tillage, fine soil on the surface

Optimal sowing depth: 2 – 3 cm – roll after sowing

Fertilization: according to soil analysis

Needs at planting: P2 O5 80/90 units/Ha; K2 O 60/70 units/Ha

Prefers soils with pH from 6 to 7.5
